I've removed the default "comedy" tag from many shows which I consider to be more drama. Just because a show is funny, doesn't make it a comedy.
Title | Year | Tim's Personal Notes | Tim's Score |
---|---|---|---|
Patriot | 2015 | This is definitely on my list of the top 10 most under appreciated shows. Very unique (and hilarious) sense of dark humor. | 95 |
Foundation | 2021 | Classic book I read in my teens. I'm hesitate to recommend this to anyone that is not a hard core, old school, sci-fi fan. It's a lot and the story is sometimes hard to follow, as it spans generations. But, it's a wonderfully made and visually inspiring production. I'm looking forward to the the third season. | 93 |
Slow Horses | 2022 | A recent find. I was late to this show, but love it. Looks like at least two more seasons on the way. (Dec 12, 2024) | 91 |
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip | 2006 | I loved this show when it came out and rewatched the entire series at least once. So disappointed that it did not catch on. This was the show that made me into an Aaron Sorkin fan. It's all about the dialogue. | 91 |
The Wrong Mans | 2013 | This was such a pleasant surprise and my first introduction to James Corden. An underrated show that deserves more attention. If you like quirkly comedies about things gone wrong, I think you'll like this one. | 90 |
Everything's Gonna Be Okay | 2020 | I love the charaters in this very uncomfortable comedy touching on difficult themes. Actually, I'm a bit uncomfortable calling this a comedy as opposed to a humorous and sentimental drama. This show is not afraid to explore topics that most shows avoid and to blend them with humor. It's well written and well cast. | 88 |
