So many things I love about this gritty gangster show from a historical period that doesn't get a lot of attention. I love the visuals and the use of music. Fascinating characters that are well developed. The details of how the Peaky Blinders present themselves really drew me in, their hair styles and even the way they walked. Very well done.

This show can be a bit slow and dry, but that is also part of the appeal. The main charater is a detective and amateur jazz singer, I'm down for that. I'm not sure if everyone will like his singing, but I kinda dig it.
I still haven't finished all available episodes, but from time to time I find myself craving more of the main character in this show. I'll have to go back and watch more sometime soon.

Watching this one with my parents. It can get a bit dark and grim at times, but then what else would one expect from a crime show on a set of islands as barren and depressing as Shetland. It's also beautiful. It's a solid and entertaining show, but doesn't really break any new ground from others show in this genre.

Dexter |

Writing in 2025 when the third iteration of Dexter is being freshly promoted. When it came out, this show was a unique take on serial killers. I ended up liking it a lot more than I expected during the first few seasons. Lots of interesting characters that were well cast with excellent performances. It was one of those shows where the premise gets a bit old and less believable over time. But the production value and characters kept me watching anyway until the end.

Well produced and well acted. I very much appreciated the cast of charaters. Over time, I began to tired of Bosch who doesn't seem to learn from his mistakes or grow as character. Five seasons in, Bosch feel like the same guy I met in the first episode. Making the same mistakes and getting caught in the same dangerous situations.
Will continue to watch, because I do like the characters and the views from Bosch's living room.

I haven't seen this show in a VERY long time. But, it was a favorite of mine in high school, back in the 80's. My friend and I loved Rockford's grit and attitude. Used to watch this in reruns.
Would love to go back and watch a few episode to see how it holds up. I'm skeptical.
